Description
Painted by Nigel Reed in 2013.
It is the working boats which have dredged the estuary for hundreds of years that inspired this painting. They sometimes hold races and show off their paces and their brightly coloured topsails.
This painting became well known when it was used by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (Patron Her Majesty the Queen) for the August picture in their Calendar titled “Nigel Reed’s working boats“.
The paper used is drawing cartridge – which is like 300gsm watercolour paper, printed by fine art printers. Prints are also available signed by the artist.
